Obverse die from Nicopolis ad Istrum - 4 assaria

This is a listing of all the coins that were sold from the Mabbott collection in 1969. It was an extremely important sale for Roman Provincial coinage with examples sold that have never been previously recorded elsewhere. Indeed, even today there are examples from this sale that do not appear in any other publications. While there are images available of some of the coins the reproduction is quite poor. It should be noted that the estimates are very out of touch with todays market

This is obviously a work in progress as there were some 5,000 coins sold in that sale - that I will add to when I get the time.
